The 4-4-4-4 T1 was the PRR's answer to both speed and haulage capacity. This articulated locomotive utilizes the streamlined design of the 1930s and 40s while being used for both passenger and freight trains.
A series of pastel and charcoal pencils were used on a large 18" x 24 sketchbook.
First, dark charcoals were rubbed and smoothened to create a foundation.
Secondly, the rough shape of the locomotive.
Thirdly, fine details were developed.
Finally, the outline in certain places was given a greater definition.
