This drawing by Spanish Cubist painter Pablo Picasso was a cubism-styled portrait of a woman who was seated and reading.
A series of coloring pencils were used on a sheet of 22.8" x 30.4 paper.
First, a light sketch of the woman and the features of the room was made.
Second, layers of the colors that were used in the original painting were colored so that they layered over each other. These colors were then blended in to provide the texture while certain places had little to no color to give the impression of shine.
