These drawings helped to study certain features of the human skeletal system.
As accurately as possible, each side of the foot was visually recorded through the use of charcoal sketches.
A series of vine charcoals, chalk and charcoal pencils were used on a large 18" x 24 sketchbook.
First, dark charcoals were rubbed and smoothened to create a foundation.
Secondly, the rough shape of the skeletal features was enhanced; using white chalk to add dimension.
Finally, the outline in certain places was given a greater definition.
