I was asked to completely renovate the website for Learn and Play, a Daycare Center based out of Branford, Connecticut that provides childcare and preschool education to children under the Christian faith. While their website needed considerable work, it was also decided that the brand assets needed to be remade in order to give the brand a much-needed updated look.
The logo went through several stages of development. The decision to include multi-racial child characters as part of the official logo was made after the idea to create a logo with a series of multi-racial hands was dropped after several design concepts. The logo consists of four small children huddled around a lamb (the lamb symbolizes Christianity).Â
The character line art was done on the iPad app Sketchbook and was colored along with the sun and grass in the digital art app Krita.
The text was added on Adobe Illustrator.
The new version of the website required a new banner on the site's home page. Two versions of trees were made for the banner, the lineart again was done on Sketchbook, before being colored in Krita. The landscape and sky was colored in Krita before the trees were added onto the banner, an open space was left in the middle of the banner for the logo to be present as a seperate piece on the website.
The line art was made on Sketchbook on the iPad.
The painting and coloring was made in Krita.
The text arrangements were made in Adobe Illustrator.
