This was a video tour highlighting various landmarks and locations in the town of Guilford, Connecticut. The video consists mostly of creative establishing shots and pans that creatively show every building and monument in all of its grandeur and detail. Establishing shots were always one of my strong suits when it came to depicting locations. Regardless of the size of the building, each structure and field allowed for me to be as creative as possible with the camera by utilizing light, gradual pans and still close-up shots to provide an artistic flair in showcasing the beauty of what the town of Guilford has to offer.
The entire video was shot on a Sony video camera. To maintain complete stability for each shot, a tripod was utilized. The camera panned and tilted in a manner that allowed for the shots to have the impression of the audience seeing the town's sights through the eyes of an actual person.
First, I wrote a locations list that contained various locations around the Town of Guilford, Connecticut. Most of these locations were already familiar, while there were other locations that posed a challenge to photograph and required a creative solution to a few unique problems. Some locations required more shots than others, and often more takes were needed in order to ensure that each location was captured to it's fullest. The filming process on location took two weekends.
Secondly, I organized the best takes from each location before utilizing DaVinci Resolve to edit all of the footage together into a sizzle reel for Guilford Community Television.
